The Asset Evaluation Team (AET) subcommittee has completed their charge of investigating the potential sale of the water and wastewater assets of the Town of New Hartford. A formal recommendation has been made by the Asset Evaluation Team and the Water Pollution Control to the Board of Selectmen to move this initiative forward to the next stages which include the consideration of a potential sale. The Board of Selectmen will hear a presentation from the AET on Monday, January 13, 2020.
This is the first in a series of many presentations that will be made by the Asset Evaluation Team to inform the general public about this proposal. Eventually, a town wide decision will be made (via a referendum vote) regarding this potential sale.
Residents are encouraged to attend as many information sessions that they can in order to gain a better understanding of this topic so that they can cast their vote as an informed voter. (note: the date for the vote has not been set)
Currently underway is the creation of a special page on this website where residents will be able to access documents that have been used by the Asset Evalution Team during this process. Once the documents have been compiled and assembled in an organized fashion, the page will be available to the public.
