Yale at the Beekley
Address
The Viano String Quartet, Chamber Music Fellows at this summer's Norfolk Music Festival, will present a free evening of classical music at the Beekley Library. Praised for their huge range of dynamics, massive sound, and spontaneity and their playing described as hair raising, with bolts of lightning flashing from many pages by American Record Guide, they received the grand prize at the 2019 ENKOR Music Competition and second prize at the 2019 Yellow Springs Chamber Music Festival. This August they will compete as one of ten invited string quartets to compete in the Banff International String Quartet Competition, recognized as one of the premier chamber music competitions in the world. Next year they will make important debuts in New York, Beijing and Vancouver. Formed in 2015 at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, the Quartet has collaborated in concerts with esteemed artists such as Emanuel Ax, Martin Beaver, Robert Chen, and Paul Coletti.
Please bring your family and join us in welcoming these extremely talented musicians for a very special evening at the library. Doors open with reception at 6:30, concert starts at 7:00. For reservations or other information stop by or call us at 860-379-7235.
