Event Date:
Thursday, August 5, 2021 - 6:30pm to 7:30pm

Go on an adventure every week in the world of reading and meet unique characters. Drive across the country in a school bus--that you live in. Go through surgery and radiation with a kid just trying to fit in as he embarks into middle school. Go back in time and count down the days until the exciting Space Shuttle Challenger launch in 1986.

Each child will receive their very own paperback copies of the books to be read and discussed in the schedule below:

July 8: Meet and greet, pick up your books
July 15: Wink by Rob Harrell
July 22: Planet Earth if Blue by Nicole Panteleakos
July 29: Clean Getaway by Nic Stone
August 5: The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise by Dan Gemeinhart
August 12: Cog by Greg Van Eekhout

Ms. Fran Stoffer will be leading the discussions each week. She taught middle school English for over 25 years and can't wait to read the Nutmeg nominees with you. The Nutmeg Book nominees are chosen by librarians and student readers and are considered to be the best stories of the year.

Masks and social distancing are required to participate.
