Trails Committee

The Economic Development Commission and the Board of Selectmen partnered to investigate options for a multi use trail within New Hartford and created a Rails to Trails subcommittee. A feasibility study of options for a trail that would connect the center of New Hartford to the existing Farmington River Trail in Canton was performed.
In October of 2018,application was made to the State of Connecticut (DEEP) for consideration of funding from the Connecticut Recreational Trails Program.  The Town of New Hartford was awarded a $120,000 planning and design grant.
Through a Request for Proposals process, the Town engaged Anchor Engineering Services, Inc to assist in the development of a proposed route for a multi-use trail.

Trail Committee members have been meeting with the consultant to identify a route and complete the preliminary design of a multi-use trail.  To receive email announcements regarding this project, please select Subscribe to News and Announcements at the top of the page and select New Hartford Trails News, Town News and any other items you might be interested in.  Enter your email address and Click Subscribe Me
