You must be registered to vote in New Hartford to vote in the November election. 

Register to Vote OnlineEffective January 1, 2014, Connecticut now permits Online Voter Registration.  Please note:  To use the online voter registration system you must have a current and valid driver’s license, learner’s permit or non-driver photo identification card issued by the CT Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and a signature on file with DMV.

If you have moved to New Hartford from another community, you must register to vote in New Hartford.  Click here to access the voter registration application.  You may print the application, complete it, and bring it to the Registrar of Voters or Town Clerk's office at Town Hall in person with a photo id or mail it with a copy of your photo id to Registrar of Voters, PO Box 426, New Hartford, CT  06057.  Please note:  if your photo id does not show a New Hartford address, you must show mail received at a New Hartford address within the past 30 days to prove residency.


Voter Registration Requirements:

To Register to vote in Connecticut you must:

  • be a United States Citizen;
  • be a resident of a Connecticut town (where you sleep at night);
  • be at least 17 years old (must turn 18 before primary/election day;
  • have completed confinement and parole if previously convicted of a felony.

Warning:  If you sign the statement even though you know it is untrue, you can be convicted and imprisoned for up to five years and fined up to $5,000.
