Tax bills to be mailed Monday, June 29
Dear Taxpayer,
This year’s tax bills will be mailed on June 29th. They will be available for viewing on our website June 26th, https://newhartfordct.gov. The bills are being prepared and mailed by our data processing vendor, so the tax office will not have access to any of the bills before they are put into the mail. If you are supposed to receive any credits not printed on your bill, please call the tax office, 860-379-5795.
THIS IS THE ONLY BILL THAT WILL BE MAILED FOR REAL ESTATE OR PERSONAL PROPERTY.
NO BILL IS MAILED FOR SECOND INSTALLMENTS.
YOUR PAYMENT STUB FOR JANUARY IS PART OF THIS BILL.
Starting JULY 1ST, payment can be in person in the office (Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 4:00; Friday 8:00 - 1:00) or on our website https://www.newhartfordct.gov
The last day for payment is August 3, 2026. We do accept postmarks as payment date. Ask Post Office to hand validate stamp in front of you.
For receipt, enclose a SELF-addressed, SELF-STAMPED envelope with payment.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHECKS ARE MADE OUT CORRECTLY – DATE, DOLLAR AMOUNTS, LEGAL TENDER LINE AND SIGNATURES!!

IF THERE ARE ANY ERRORS, checks will be returned. IF A PHONE NUMBER IS AVAILABLE, WE WILL TRY TO CONTACT YOU. BE AWARE THAT IF THEY ARE RETURNED DUE TO ERRORS AND ARE NOT RECEIVED BEFORE THE DUE DATE, INTEREST WILL BE ADDED.
Any questions about assessments or exemptions should be directed to the Assessor office at 860-379-5235 or assessor@newhartfordct.gov. If you have disposed of a motor vehicle you are being billed for, please contact the Assessor’s office to find out what documentation you will need to submit.
This office does not accept payments nor have access to information pertaining to the Fire Districts. Please direct any Fire District questions to your Fire District tax collector.
THE TAX OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED ON JUNE 30TH FOR FISCAL-YEAR-END PROCESSING.
TOWN HALL WILL BE CLOSED JULY 4TH FOR THE INDEPENDENCE DAY HOLIDAY
