TAX BILLS will be

mailed MONDAY, JUNE 29, 2026 

and available for online viewing and paying. Taxes are due July 1, 2026.   

2025 Grand List Mill Rate is 27.57

This Mill Rate was set at the Board of Finance Regular Meeting held on May 12, 2026.

2025 Grand List covers October 1, 2025- September 30, 2026. Fiscal Year begins July 1, 2026 and ends June 30, 2027.

If you need same day DMV clearance to register a vehicle, you MUST pay CASH IN THE OFFICE OR by credit or debit card using this link AND call the office to request that your clearance be processed.  However, payment by eCheck requires a waiting period of 10 business days before clearance can be processed.

Credit Card payments will be charged 2.50% of the net payment amount or $2.00 minimum.
Debit Cards will be charged a flat fee of $3.95.
ACH (e-check) fee is $0.95.

New Hartford takes pride in having a "user-friendly" tax office.  Don't hesitate to call this office if you have any questions.

New Hartford has two Fire Districts that levy their own tax. The Town of New Hartford does NOT have access to Fire District Information; those bills are NOT collected at Town Hall. To identify in which Fire District your property is located, you may look at your tax bill (using the link above) or your property card (available via link from the Assessor's page).
