General Information

Brodie Park consists of 200 acres available to the public for a variety of activities and is home to many annual community events.

On the lakeside, there are 50 acres of fields, woods, water and active recreation areas.  There is waterfront access to West Hill Lake, a spring fed waterbody with one of the highest water ratings in the State of Connecticut.  It is a beautiful area for fishing, boating and swimming.  Boat storage is available to rent.  Use of the waterfront area during the summer months requires the purchase of a beach pass.  Other amenities include 2 clay tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, a 4-hoop basketball court, a large playground and a 5,000 square foot skate park.  Berkshire Hall is situated behind the tennis and basketball courts and is home to many community events and is available to rent for private parties.

The Franklin P. Kearney Conservation Trail is across West Hill Road from the Berkshire Hall parking lot.  It starts at the corner of West Hill Road and Niles and starts a meandering trail system that leads you up to the spacious fields known as Brodie South or the “old golf course”.  This southern parcel consists of 150 acres of fields, trails and woodlands and there is a variety of birds and wildlife to enjoy.  Trails at the far corner of the property lead down into the Cedar Swamp and it is a perfect area to hike or take a leisurely stroll.  A small parking lot borders the property at the top of Niles Rd.
