Change in Recording Fees for documents submitted by a Nominee

Per PA 13-247 Sec. 81 & 82, effective July 15, 2013, recording fees have increased for documents submitted by a nominee:

  • For the recording of any document by a nominee except (i) an assignment of mortgage in which a nominee of a mortgagee appears as assignor, or (ii) a release of mortgage be the nominee of a mortgagee, the recording fee payable to the Town Clerk will be one hundred fifty-nine dollars for the first page and five dollars per page thereafter.
  • For the recording of (i) an assignment of mortgage in which a nominee of a mortgagee appears as assignor, or (ii) a release of mortgage be the nominee of a mortgagee, the recording fee payable to the Town Clerk shall be one hundred fifty-nine dollars for the entire document.  No additional fees shall be collected.
